KATHLEEN McMILLAN With deep sadness we announce that Kathleen (Kay) McMillan passed away suddenly on September 8, 2003 at the age of 79 years. Kay will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her son Bruce and daughter-in-law Jane of Winnipeg; her daughter Betty and son-in-law Jim Tobias of Sherwood Park; grandchildren, Ryan McMillan, Kirsten Tobias and Sean Tobias; sister-in-law Joan Sanderson, nieces and nephews and their families and extended family in Dryden, Morden, Lytton, Campbell River and Hope. Kay was predeceased by her husband Art and her brothers, Joe, Ken and Ben Sanderson. Kay was born Kathleen Sanderson, September 16, 1923 at Shotley Bridge, County Durham in England. At the age of 6 years she immigrated with her family to Canada, growing up with many friends in Dryden, ON. Kay enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War and spent time in England. Upon returning to Canada she married Art McMillan in 1947 and followed him devotedly raising their family as they moved around Canada for the next 53 years. She and Art enjoyed traveling and visiting their many friends and family across the country. Kay was a 50 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion, the Eastern Star, the Royal Canadian Air Force Association, a regular Red Cross Blood Donor, and member of St. Chads Anglican Church. She blessed us all by donating her time, talents and treasure to worthy causes in every community of which she was a part. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 13, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Chads Anglican Church, Assiniboia Christian Centre, 3390 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, with the Rev. Gordon Shields officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. The record of generous and good lives runs like vines around beautiful memories, every sweet, unselfish act is now a treasured, perfumed flower... character survives, goodness lives, and love is forever. We will miss you forever, and love you always ...Your loving children We wish to express our sincere appreciation to the many friends who offered their support during this time of loss. In addition, special thanks to the caring staff at Deer Lodge Centre. In lieu of flowers, Kays values and beliefs can be honoured by donations being made to Gordon Shields Ministry of St. Chads Parish or to the Deer Lodge Centre Foundation at 2109 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, designated to the Worship Centre Fund.
